I was watching the Lightroom Cd last night and noticed the Apple laptop used by Jeff Schewe had "waves" on the top cover.

A pair of 4 wave sets above the Apple logo and a single set of 5 waves below.

Is 4-4-5 a secret code for a some new Apple product (TIC).

While I haven't yet come around to watch that disc, I know that etching patterns into the lid of the PowerBook is fairly popular.

I've seen Jeff's PB. They appear to be a stick on material to allow one to better grip the closed Powerbook. I personally use a handle but it doesn't look as cool.

The etched Mac lids look extremely cool! The stick on wiggles for grip look like a good idea for those of us who seem to find the current alubooks remarkably slippery - I know that I've almost dropped my AluBooks many times and I'll be getting something like these now. (I guess you could use those strips you fix to the bath if you were being cheap :-) )

As regards the handle, I had one of these with my Titanium 15" PowerBook and you need to be very careful about the strain that the handle mounts put on the screen hinge assemblies. I had one eventually break and had to replace it. Your mileage may vary of course .... it does make it a lot easier to pull out of a sleeve without struggling for grip.
