Printer Calibration Problems

First I know this must be a rookie mistake.  I recently make a several custom printer profiles for my Epson 4000 using the macBeth Pro system.  Used atkinson s Eyeone Pro Target and then confirmed output by printing his Profile Test Image...worked very well when printing through Lightroom.  Then I tried it thru Photoshop and got the dreaded light magenta print..normally associated with not turning color mgt off in the print driver.  To eliminate the variables I went back to the std epson profile and printed one of my typical photos...definately way off. Time to recheck all the settings...1. EDIT...working space set to adobe RGB..preserve embedded profiles ...display mismatches 2. Print with Preview ..COLOR MGT..let photoshop determine colors, profile Epson s std Premium Luster , Rel C/BP ..3. Print driver..settings .media Premium luster..COLOR MGT ...no color management.  I checked the settings in the 3 areas against the recommendations from Epson, Scott  Kelby and several others.  The profiles also work fine in the proof view.  Any ideas on what I am missing?

But what settings did you have in the actual Epson driver (hopefully No Color Adjustements). Note too, that you almost always have to check the Epson driver, even if you setup a save setting because, depending on the phases of the moon, it can default back to something other than what you expected.

Just to be sure ..the print driver settings are the final dialogue that you receive before starting to print....the no color management is definately off the print settings are for the proper media..what is frustrating is that I can print thru lightroom ...which calls up the same print driver dialogue and I am assuming uses the same profile.....to minimize any variables ....I printed a good print thru Lightroom..so the printer is fine...same settings ....then I shut everything down ..restarted the system...selected the same image to open in photoshop...checked the settings in photoshop as outlined in my previous post..then to further check my settings I used them on my MacBook Pro and it works fine....   if you could check my thinking it might help 1.  the printer is fine...made a good print and also ran print utility 2. the print driver and the profiles are fine....used them out of Lightroom..also went back to std epson profile 3. the image file is fine...used 3 different files including Atkinson s test file ..4.  the settings are fine ..at least the ones I outlined ..because I used them in another copy of Photoshop on my MacBook ....therefore its in the copy of photoshop on the G5.    Is it possible that in building the custom profile using the MacBeth Pro software that I corrupted or reset something.....I guess anything is possible....next step reload the photoshop software??

Well the question is, are you using Photoshop CS2_9.0.1 under Mac OS X 10.4.6? If so, you've run into the printing bug!

First Let me thank you for even responding as I don t want to wear out my welcome ..you could be right about the bug  ...I did go back to the std espon profile so its not the profile..I suspect that somehow I corrupted my photoshop standards when building the new profile... I can not duplicate the problem on my macbook pro..my results look just like those when you screw up the settings in print with profile..the driver and profiles are working because Lightroom works and Proofing works..thank you again..i will share my results once I solve this one

Ref the bug with OS 10.4.6 and Photoshop 9.01.
There is an update to the OS to 10.4.7 that appears to correct the problem that the above combination introduced.

Installed 10.4.7 and problem is corrected..thanks so much for the information...next time I will make sure all the current releases are installed...
