Salvo, Thanks for the info. You're very fortunate to be in Sicily at the right moment. I've been a number of times in the Etna region but could never see flows of lava or even eruptions (my last time there was in 2001). I had to go to Stromboli to get a few shots.

Eric, If you've not yet seen it, visit Salvo's website ([a href=\"http://www.sicilylandscape.com/]http://www.sicilylandscape.com/[/url]). It's really worth it.

Eric [a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=71706\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a] And don't forget the Eolian islands just off the north-east coast of Sicily. Vuclano, Lipari, Stromboli and other volcanic islands are truely worth the trip. You should include them in your future Sicily "adventure".

My very first visit to Italy was this spring, for six weeks limited to Tuscany and Umbria. It was fantastic, and I'm still wading through my over 5000 shots (too many of them worth printing). Before this trip I had decided that Italy had too many good places to do all in one trip, and I intended to save Northern Italy and Southern Italy for separate trips later on. I now think Sicily and the nearby islands will want a trip of their own. And I want to get back to Tuscany and Umbria, in the fall next time. I'll post a mention here when I finally get some of the T & U pix up on my website. Eric
