Lyson Darkroom Gloss experience?

Has anyone used the Lyson Darkroom Gloss?  I've just received a box and like the weight (320) and smooth finish, air dried F surface look very much.  My first prints (using the Canon 9900) are just okay.  I tried the Lyson's profile for the 9100 (is that the same printer with European nomenclature?) and another gloss profile has that worked well in the past and found that the ink is quite heavy and also very slow to dry.  What do we know about this paper?  Thanks, Jim

I have not used it, but did research it at one time.  I believe that this paper is intended for use with Lyson's monochrome dye inks.  I use Epsons, so I am not familiar with the Canon inks, however, if they are pigment or pigment mix, that could explain your problem.

There may be longevity issues when using different papers that are not designed for specific inks (or vice versa). When the ink is slow to dry, that's a very clear indication of incompatibility.

Personally speaking, I find I have enough problems getting a perfect match between screen and print without introducing further uncertainty.

I was aware that the paper is part of Lyson's Digital Darkroom inkset which I'm thinking of trying.  Not to get off of the subject but has anyone tried the monochromatic inkset installed into a 2200?  Back to the Canon situation, Lyson has a profile for it so it should be compatable with the printer.  Also, the paper's look is too great, so I'd like to try to make it work.  Thanks, Jim
