Therein lies the problem I had with your first post...using inflammatory language in an attempt to get attention. I had a problem with that.
.....
But if you need help, you might need to get better asking for it-coming into the forums screaming "I feel screwed" is not optimal...IMHO

The replies to this post reminds me of a portion of a George Carlin's comedian show. "Wouldn't it be nice if someone just gave you a list of words that you shouldn't use. Instead you find out by having someone slap you in the face when you use them." Maybe I need a definition of the phrase "inflammatory language".
Oh, and how do you pronounce Schewe? Does it rhyme with screw. I know, whack, I got slapped in the face again. Any reason why peoples nerves are so touchy? Lighten up folks!
Goldilocks. (Trying to decide if I can change the ending to the fairy tale and make friends with the bears and hear their laughter. Or do I just run away like in the original?)

Jeez, I thought we were all adults here  .

In any case, it's good to see that Adobe finally has someone on staff that understands raw processing after hyping mickey-mouse stuff to us for years.

Actually, I'm glad we got to this post--I've been pronouncing it to myself as 'Shuuuu' or 'Shoe' for years LOL--didn't have a clue I guess.

I'm an RSP (and C1, Bibble--but this was given to me, ACR--and the old PS7/RAW plugin, have DPP on my HD too, etc) license holder.  I'm also demoing LR.  I liked RSP--a lot---but Michael and his partner made their own choices.  Lots of others have done the same and its theirs to do with as they choose.  I do understand some feeling 'betrayed' but 'stuff happens' and things change.  I'll use it until I upgrade camera bodies.

I just can't get myself into a snit about this one way or the other.  I've seen changes in RCs since day one and have gone through too many to get too attached.  However I really WOULD like to settle in.  I admit I rarely use ACR (my evolution with RCs was the original Canon RC--AWFUL, then Breezebrowser,  tried Yarcplus, PS7/RAW plugin, C1 and then RSP)---but after I used LR--I may drag my Bruce Fraser 'Camera RAW' book out--for future reference.  Since I was able to get what I felt was an equal or better conversion from LR than from C1 or RSP--I started reconsidering.

However, I have issues about other modules--whether they will be any great use to me--or not.  I can't imagine that I won't use PS--so I'll print from there or Qimage.  I have Imatch--so whether LR can compete with that (and will have the ability to deal with archived/offline files or not)means that 'library' may not be a good match for me.  I'm not sure that I want more than a good standalone RC--but what I want/need may not have much to do with a great majority of other photographers.  So---its wait and see and work with what I have.  Not much point in getting out of sorts about it.  It will be what it will be---and hope that there is good input from beta testers and Michael.

One of the things I do wonder about is Aperture.  There are surely a lot of good things being said about it---but since I've been a PC person for so long--I doubt I would consider going Mac now.  However--I'd love to play with Aperture just to see what IT has that so many Mac folks seem to like and how it stacks up against LR (considering the stage of development).

Well. . .I think EVERYBODY is wondering about those same questions. . .and I will also admit that the first Windows beta is a very poor bell-weather indicator of what to expect in the future. The Win B3 was certainly rushed out there (finalized before the pixmantec purchase so there was zero time to get anything into Win B3) and the Windows B3 is really, really slow...Adobe even admits that.

The question is, will LR offer enough overall features and functionality to attract the photo market to adopt the "Lightroom Way". And that's a question that is yet to be answered since here at B3, we're a LONG WAY from having a completed application.

My dad pronounced the German way 'sha-ve' and my mom pronounced it her way, 'she-we'. So, when in doubt, listen to your mom...and I've heard it butchered in many, many ways...

Thanks for all the insight, everyone.  Now I'm going to feel like Cinderella with alot of homework to do (concerning softwares, developing a process or workflow, organizing myself, figuring out which monitor to use when and which computer to use when). Well you can all go back and sleep comfortably on your beds. Until I wake you up cause I'm having trouble sleeping on the floor.

which has now been replaced by a 5D, which Capture One LE won't handle either.)

Eric, C1LE will handle 5D files and Magne Nilsen also has a camera profile available for it.  You need vs. 3.7.4 for 5D.

Thanks for the heads up on C1LE, Diane. I think when I last checked on updates was well before I got the 5D, and at that time there seemed no good reason to upgrade. Now I think I will.

I have never warmed up to ACR, having gotten used to C1LE.
