Hirzel Pass between Zug and Zurich, Friday September 29





I would love some feedback on this image.  My own feelings:

- Too much sky
- Exposure compromise I went for the sky (But I like the result)
- I prefer the portrait version as imo the composition is better and it's more moody

But I'd really apreciate your opinions.

Too much sky... maybe, but the clouds are interesting.  My only comment is that the fence line immediately grabs the eye and leads you into the black 'void' at the centre from the frame, and there's no escaping from there.

I hadn't thought about the 'black void' in the same way you did Mike, but you are right.  On reflecetion I think it leads you beleive there is something interesting at the end, when in fact there isn't.

I can't do much about the composition apart from some cropping.  What I can do is merge or blend the exposures to lighten that area up while still retaining the blue sky.
