Under the Bridge

Hello,

I'm on a serious doubt about this photo, I like the image both ways.
The croped version seems more cohesive but the bushes of the other version give the image a sense of horizon and seem to counter-balance the heaviness of the bridge.
What do you think?

And for the rest, what more do you suggest? It already have post-production.

I prefer the uncropped version. In the cropped one, my eye slides down and out the bottom of the picture. The treetops in the uncropped version establish a ground level and fill that empty corner. I also like the contrast between the smooth lines of the bridge and the unruly treetps.

I have to agree with Eric's comments.  Without the trees, there is no reference for the bridge and I am left wondering what is going on in the image.  It feels as if it isn't anchored.

Very nice image.  I'm curious about what time of day it was taken.  It has very nice detail in both the shadows and highlights.

I'll take the opposing view.  I like the sense of mystery and strong design in the cropped version and find the foliage in the uncropped version slightly distracting and leading to a quick, "Oh it's a bridge and there's the other shore."  And I like how the curve terminates at the lower edge in the cropped version, but I also like how the diagonal hits the upper left corner in the uncropped.  How about a third version that preserves both of those intersections?

This is a strong image, and I can see why different people might prefer different versions of it. Of the three so far my current preference is for Tim's tight crop, with the trees version in second place. What Tim's crop does for me is remove the emptiness on the left that made me want the trees at the bottom.

I'm happy that I'm not the only one with doubts  There are so many ways to show the same image that it gets confusing sometimes. I gess it's a matter of taste.

I'm with Nill, I'd crop off the bottom only and leave the strong corner in the UL. The tight crop is "ok" but I miss the nice sky gradient and counterbalance. I like the image - I've taken a number of "under bridge" photos and never got one this nice.
