ipf5000/hahnemuhle fine art pearl

hey guys/gals!

just got a ipf5000 few days ago, been doing some test prints on several papers, and decided to use fine art pearl for a certain series in B&W. i've been trying to figure out the "best" settings for the paper and since i'm still really new at this i thought i might ask what others are doing while i keep on experimenting. i'm using the 16bit plugin for photoshop.

also, i haven't read through everything but assume the paper settings for fine art papers use matte black and the other black for the glossy paper settings. the fine art watercolor setting actually look deeper and IMO nicer that the glossy settings i've tried so far the on fine art pearl (at least for the particular images i need to get done). the images printed with photo black reflect light more evenly and the matte black images reflect black unevenly in different areas but otherwise i still prefer the matte black results. is there some negatives i should know of using matte black ink for paper like fine art pearl?
