PSE4 and Lightroom

I need a little bit of help from those with a bit more knowledge than me. I use PSE 4 and just purchased Adobe Lightroom. The sales person assured me that Lightroom will work with PSE4.
When I download photos with a card reader they go straight to the organizer, which is what I like. Will Lightroom recognize the photos in the organizer that were just downloaded and import the data on command into the Lightroom Library or does one have to set up a special file for import into the Lightroom library from Bridge?
Thanks for your replies.
Light room ships 2-25-07 and I'm trying to be prepared.

The organizer is PSE4's file manager and will not work with Lightroom since light room itself is an image manager. You have to choose one or the other.
LR will work with Elements (the editor portion) however. If not set as the default editor already, you can set it as the secondary editor in the Lightroom preferences.
If you want to use LR, then import the files into LR from the card reader and then export them to Elements when you want further editing refinement.

Ok, I'm happy with that (using LR as a file manager). Since I don't have LR to play with yet I'm really trying to pick brains. I have about 2000 photos in the organizer, can I import those "files" into LR Library so that I don't have to jump back and forth from the two programs or do I just start over in LR and enjoy the experience?

You can import them into the LR library from where they sit on the hard drive now but I don't believe LR will maintain many of the settings applied. Keywords may transfer... What exactly will import in with the images is a question best asked in the adobe forums.
