Hello!

Just stumbled across your site in my eternal search for knowledge! I work on a research station in the Antarctic, have been here over 18 months now with just under a year until I get back home to the Uk. I'm a mad keen photographer learning and expanding all the time, as soon as I've worked out how I will post some of my pictures for some constructive critisism and hopefully pointers to help me develop.
Anyway, I'll thank you in advance for the large amount of help I will probably be asking for!

Hi Mat, and welcome to the list.  I liked your Antarctic work, BTW.  As far as Photoshop goes, go ahead and play with the sliders all you want.  Just don't save anything without backups!  There are a number of good books on Photoshop techniques, but since finding a good bookstore on the southern most continent might be a little difficult, if you have iTunes (available or Mac and Windows), there are a number of podcast tutorials you can download and watch.  Depends on your bandwidth and 'net time of course.

Thanks for the welcome Mike, British Columbia, now there's a place I'd love to visit, maybe when I get out of here. I didn't think about podcasts, great advice, I'll have a look, we have a terrible internet connection as regards bandwidth but can't complain!
