I suspect the problem isn't your printer (I have a B9180 too) - it's that Lightroom's print preview doesn't offer soft proofing.
Particularly when printing on expensive fine art media, it may be worth dropping to Photoshop or another program that does allow you to soft proof before printing.

Thanks david...i figured that out too....i am planning on using a RIP software such as PrintFab (
http://www.printfab.net/) to do printing...hopefully that may provide better results...About soft proofing though, i know that the more expensive Z3100 series printers offer a "HP Print Preview" software - any ideas on how or where to get it? and if it works with the B9180? Otherwise, i may have to do this manually with ColorSync or Preview (I am a Mac)
