I'm sure PKS is a good product, but I'm tired of having to worry about this BS.  As long as there is a reasonable alternative that DOESN'T require Product Activation, I'll buy THAT product.
[a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=127147\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

And run it in what software? Photoshop 7? Adobe has gone to activation so that boat has sailed...BTW, we found a number of sites (warez) that had cracked serials for our products. So we went the activation route. But at the same time made the serials cross-platform so users could use their products on either platform. Lightroom does that but even Photoshop doesn't.

Vote with your wallet if you wish-that is your prerogative. But do you lock your house or car when you leave? If you do then you understand the concept of security. That's all were' doing...due diligence and prudence lead us to this measure.

Hate to tell ya (I'm pretty sure you already know) but activation doesn't stop it from being pirated.  CS3 and your activation have both been worked around for some time now.

Activation is pretty useless.  #1 it poses problems for legit users for no reason.  #2 it doesn't stop illegit users.  All it does is give a false warm-fuzzy feeling to the owners.

While it doesn't stop it, it certainly cuts it down to only hardened pirates...

I know somebody who is determined can break into my house as well. But I still lock the door-with a good dead bolt lock and I have an alarm on my car. To follow your logic, both are pointless? I live in Chicago where both are standard accouterments of modern living...

No, I'll run it in Photoshop CS3 -- and what's more, on Windows XP.  The key words in my post were "reasonable alternative".  I'll reluctantly put up with Product Activation where I have to, if I have to.  Who knows?  After checking out the alternatives I might decide that I need PKS.  And if so, I'll hold my nose while activating it (I hope you'll have improved the esellerate "experience" by then).

If you've found your products on Warez sites, I hope you don't expect that to change because of your decision to use activation.  They're just waiting for you to come out with the final version.  All you've done is to make using and buying your products more difficult for the folks who actually want to PAY you.

Yes, I do lock my house (usually).  But if I were renting my house, and I had to call the landlord for a new key whenever I changed my socks -- I'd have a problem with that.

'hardened' pirates?  LOL What do you have, some 13 year old nephew talking about the internet to you or something?  OK believe what you will...the cracked file is used exactly the same way as a serial keygen...just copy it, run it, done.  Anyone looking for pirated software uses it as easily as any other.  By your logic, The only people that buy coupes rather than sedans are 'hardened' drivers

And yes, a lock on your home and an alarm on your car are 100% pointless - IF your intenet was to keep someone out.  That, however, is NOT the point of either device.  It is to make it less CONVENEINT and to add DELAY to the entrance.

Apples and oranges, try again.

Then I would guess that your "capture sharpening" stage was too light and the output stage was expecting a bit stronger capture sharpen. You might try Super Sharpen 1 at a 20-30 opacity prior to output sharpen...

Thanks for the advice Jeff.

Well. I stopped being impressed. I purchased the pk sharpner and now It needs to be activated and I cannot get it activated. What a terrible way to do business.  Jeff, you say there is an updated dll in the rc page, but I cannot find it.

I had planned a lot of work today and thought I was doing good to go ahead and buy this.  The manual activation asks for a id number which I have no idea what that is. I have the SN.

Anyone out there know how to obtain the updated 'eSellerateEngine.dll' ?

The answer is located in the lower part of the Pixel Genius download page including the link for the Esellerate updater.

 You didn't go far enough.

I had a problem moving to a new computer earlier this summer and I found them quite responsive.  Got it straightened out pretty quickly.
