In the recent article through a link on LL to African Safaris, they referred to using several card readers (I have 2) to download simultaneously, and make backups. Any suggestions as how to configure DL Pro, I have Win XP set to autoplay when DLPro starts. I want to have first card reader go to a specific folder on my desktop with the backup to an external drive, and the second card reader go to a different folder on the desktop, again backing up to an external drive. I have file name set to {d}-{r} (date and file name)
I know it's probably simple, just can't get it to work yet.
Thanks,
Cynthia

I think you may get a definitive answer from the maker of DLPro starting here [a href=\"http://www.breezesys.com/Downloader/index.htm]http://www.breezesys.com/Downloader/index.htm[/url] I believe Chris Breeze and his support is very good and if there is a scripting function to do what you wish he/they will advise.

This sounds like good advice. Looking through the help screens of DLPro I was unable to find a way to do exactly what Cynthia describes, but I do see that you can specify two or more different source drives (i.e., different card readers), but the destination folder is determined by the string (including special tags) that you set in preferences.

If your two card readers are for different cameras, it is easy to put in a tag that specifies the camera name as part of the download path. I have both a Canon 5D and a Canon S60, and all my 5D photos go into folders named by date that live under a "5D" folder (currently in a folder called "Photos2007"), while the S60 photos go into subfolders of an "S60" folder, also in "Photos2007".

Here is my download directory string (from "Preferences"): K:\Photos07\{T}\{Y}-{m}-{D}

And here is my Filename: {J}_{y}{m}{D}_{r4}{l2}{H}

These are from version 2.02. Note that the {T} tag indicates the camera name. I do all of this with just one card reader for both cameras. As I understand the help files, if you use two card readers (with different drive letters), it will read them one at a time, in order.

It might be possible to install two different versions of DLPro and run them simultaneously from different card readers. You'd have to ask Chris Breeze about that, and I'm not sure it would save much time.

I hope this helps. Do let us know what you find out.
