Of Cokin Filters

I wrote a piece of Cokin's filter system. It's probably not too interesting for expert b&w photographers, as it's kind of a journal of my journey to square filter systems. I wrote it as a hybrid review/guide to Cokin's filters.

As a little something extra, I'm also going to give my input of the necessity (or lack thereof) of color filters with today's digital manipulation.

Hi Paul,

I'm a bit late (I don't get over here often enough) but would like to congratulate you on a very nice job on the Cokin filter system. I've used Cokin filters since they became available and were "cheap" - LOL.

Another nice thing is that some of the very unique Singh Ray filters such as the graduated reverse neutral density filter for sunup/sundown can be easily use with the "P" mount as well.

Cokin filters have probably been my worst photographic purchase so far. They scratch way too easily, there is no neutral grad (only a gray grad) and they just seem cheap and nasty.

You do have to take care of them. I have a number which are over 30 years old and still serving me perfectly with zero scratches or blemishes.
