Lightroom Library file location?

I'm just starting to learn to work with Lightroom and have now a groups of photos in the Library.  I'd like to delete the library file(s), but I can't find where they are.

Note:  I'm not looking to delete the photos, just Lightroom's references to them.  I want to start from scratch.  I'm in XP, and 1.0.  I have downloaded 1.1 and 1.2, but have not installed either.

One way it to select all your photos in the library and press the Delete key. Then when it asks you whether you wish to delete the files on disk or just remove them from the lib, just ask LR to remove them from the lib. That way you'll get what you want: just removing LR's links to the real files.

If you want to physically delete the catalog itself, try looking here:

C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\My Pictures\Lightroom

where is your username. That's the default catalog location.

I have just installed LR 2 Beta.  In File>Catalog Settings>General Tab, it shows me location of catalog.  How can i change this location?  

Can't see an option, only show location.

As LR starts, if you hold the option/alt key you'll get an opportunity to make a new catalog. Put it wherever you want.

Also, under the File menu, you can select New Catalog... and/or Open Catalog.
