I was researching for the value of my Contax 645 gears and came across a waist level finder item# 180160991792 in EBay sold for $711.99. Is this the going rate for one of these?  I have one and I thought I was going to sell it for $150.

Anyhow, there is not much Contax 645 stuff (bodies, lenses, digital backs) for sale on EBay, so there not a whole lot to gauge the price of thest thing. Could someone comment on the market value for these gears (more/less that original price)?

I picked up a used one in mint condition for under $500 a few months ago - I think the original selling price was about $300. The selling prices on the rarer Contax 645 items, like the waist level viewfinder are quite high while lenses and camera kits (body, prism, 80 and film back) are selling at half to 2/3rd of the original price. Prices on eBay are more volatile than the summer stock market. In fact, I saw one WL finder go for $1100 and another for $200+,  (it had a damaged magnifying element) so it just depends on who is watching when you post it. Why don't you post a list here on LL?
