So far, using the 5.1 raster driver and the 3.1.1 PS driver with the new firmware ... everything works on the Mac ...

When I click "download" for the firmware, I get a message that the file is not available. Is there a reason for this and/or a way around it. Thanks, Alan

Ditto..... and the new driver can't be found anywhere.  When I go to the HP Color Center it reports I'm up to date with the latest (from May).

They've either pulled this release to fix the problem reported earlier or this is the most inept release to date.

This release is pear-shaped -- that is, except for the actual firmware itself, which has run flawlessly for me (printed huge canvases yesterday, beautiful).  And has the printer stopped chopping off that 2" strip on roll load now?

I'm running 6.0.0.8 but the website now offers 6.0.0.7 (Huh??).
There's no updated Windows driver (May is the most recent).
Is Easy Printer Care dead for Windows or not?
Why won't HP update offer to upgrade my EPC to 2.2.1 when I have 2.1.1?

Argh!

I'm not sure what is going on, but I have now downloaded new firmware (v.xxxxx.07), Postscript driver (v.4.1.1) and printer utility (v.3.1) for my printer, a 44" Z3100ps GP.  Everything seems to work like a charm (knock on wood!) so far.  I even used a new paper preset to print a beautiful image with Harman Gloss with no roller marks (see the Harman Gloss thread for more details).

I know that the website is challenging to navigate at best, but when I just looked, the PS driver, new utility and the v.07 firmware were still up for the Mac PS version, as well as the Windows versions (driver 61.71.841.0 and print utility 1.4).  It doesn't look like there is anything new posted for the non PS printers, though.  The non-PS versions were up earlier today?

The new driver functions just as the PDF bulletin said, with obvious differences right off the bat in the second screen of the print dialogue box.  Under Image Quality>Paper Type, the default is now "Any", with gloss enhancer now an option for any paper.  I have no idea, though, if there is an advantage to selecting a specific paper type in this drop down menu.  For the Harman Gloss I just tested, I chose a specific paper type since I didn't want to push my luck yet.

Apparently the Z3100ps GP downloads are all there... but they are not at the moment for the vanilla Z3100 version that shows firmware 6.0.0.7 is not available.

A know-not-much guy in hardware support says "just wait a week or two". He happens to be the guy to totally screwed things up for me a while back loading the last driver update. Alan

I have been trying to download latest firmware from the HP site and I keep getting "version not found".  Does anyone have a direct link to the download site.  Can use it ASAP.  Thanks.

No new drivers yet, just the firmware.  Have I missed something?
[a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149318\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

Hi all,
As of 10 PM EST the Z3100ps GP drivers for Mac OS X v.2 through v.4 are available for download on the HP website. Hooray.

I've got my work cut out for me tomorrow.

Looks like the HP Designjet Z3100ps GP ICC profiles may have been updated too (but I'm not 100% certain). Working with non HP papers FW5.PDF (1.5MB) is also available, but will this have to be updated to something like "Working with non HP papers FW6.PDF " wouldn't you think? Anyone know for sure or should I just keep going back and checking.

HP promised to be notifying me of firmware and driver updates, but I've never seen such notification. Is anyone getting notified?

So long for now, TOM

I believe that they only use that system in the case of an emergency, so the answer is no.

I've been able to print fine with the new software, but have discovered some issues with the Printer Utility.  I don't have a Manage Papers tab at all, and the Job Queue window doesn't have correct formatting or any functionality.   I called tech support about it, got nowhere, as it was fairly late and the "people that know" had gone home for the day.  I've already tried uninstalling and installing it, to no avail.  Everything else seems fine.

Similar observations here.
Yesterday I could downlaod 0.8 but only the May 15th drivers were available. Now the firmware download is 0.7 and still no new drivers but more PDFs on what to do. Logging in through other countries doesn't deliver more. I have not installed anything except for a new update utility yesterday. I rather wait till everything is available.

Hi -Ron H,
Are you on the Mac? If so, have you done all the usuals like repairing permissions, and doing a system restart after installing the software to see if you can get it working correctly?

Last week I installed a program and was having a difficult time getting the thing to accept the serial number. I would enter the info and double check it but it kept telling me it was not the correct serial number. Problem was that it was reverting to the old software which was still there after I installed the newer version. After I repaired permisssions and restrated it worked just fine.

I plan on installing today. I hope it goes smoothly.

So long for now, TOM

TOM-
Yep.  On a Mac and still running 10.4.10, since I only need one migration problem at a time (installing Leopard on a cloned drive later today to try).  HP tech support said that they anticipated no problems with Leopard, but then they also said the same, I'm sure, about their most recent software/firmware upgrade.

I did repair permissions, restart, uninstall and try again.  I guess I'm up for one more try before giving up and waiting for HP tech support to call back.

That's good to hear, Sean.  If I interpret the information others have reported HP didn't change any of their color mixing so profiles and APS should be fine as they are.  Do I understand this correctly?  If so, I'll be installing the new firmwave tonight.
[a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=149321\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

I accidentally downloaded and installed the xp pro 64 bit version of the driver and then HP printer utility vs Easy printer care. I installed the HP printer utility without a hitch and the driver seems to work also. I then uninstalled Easy Printer Care YAY!!! I am using xp pro 32 bit but all seems good. I will upgrade to the 6.0.0.7 Firmware next but as of right now, the site will not let me download it. It says it was not able to locate the firmware?

The firmware 6_00_00-8 is back up again. Is there a way to tell if it's the same version as the one that was up a few days ago that I installed.

I'm also seeing the drivers and printer utility now for Windoze 32 bit.

Here's hoping these are the packages we've been waiting for and not a trick or treat from HP   .

Is this for Win32? If so, would you be so kind as to post a link? All I can find is 6.0.0.7. I downloaded this thinking that it included the updates, but it's identical to the version I downloaded on the 26th.

Thanks!

Thanks, Ron, but all I see at that link is the 6.0.0.7 version. I cleared my cache, same result. Here's what I see:

I get the same result with FireFox...maybe it's a Halloween thing :-). I'll try again tomorrow.

Just a question, is the latest firmware 6.0.0.8 identical with the first version posted at  26th of October? Here are the filesizes from the version from 26. Oct.:

zipped version, as seen in Windows Explorer:
TR12-TR_06_00_00-8_mvl31-x86-opt_B.EXE | 374.193 kb | 26th oct 2007

unzipped version:
