A week and £300 for a coastal trip? Suggestions?

So I've got about £300 and a week starting from any day now, to take a trip anywhere in the UK or even elsewhere if I can do it for the same money. I like coastal stuff, and I've done alot of Dorset's Jurassic Coast, so I like rocky shorelines., etc.

Anyone got any suggestions as to where I should go? I was thinking perhaps The Giant's Causeway and that area of Northern Ireland. I'm guessing Scotland wouldn't be great this late in the year. Am I wrong?

Anywhere in the UK at this time of year means taking a risk with the weather. West coast of Scotland would be my choice. There is a great pub in Applecross that does accommodation and excellent food: [a href=\"http://www.applecross.uk.com/inn/index.htm]Applecross Inn[/url]. I was there in May this year and can recommend the King Scallops and the Monkfish!

Getting there might be tricky if there is any significant snowfall... On the other hand you don't have to worry about the midges!

Hi,

you could go up to Scotland and do some of the West Highland Way, especially the sections from Bridge of Orchy to Kinlochleven as these are the most scenic and the poor weather can often add to the atmosphere for taking photo's. There is also good accomodation available in bunkhouses at Bridge of Orchy and Kinlochleven and there is the famous Kingshouse inn in between.

Another good choice would be to go to some of the islands on the west coast of Scotland like Arran, Islay, Mull etc..   all beautiful places and there are reasonably regular bus routes round these islands that can leave you and pick you up in some very remote places.
