Could you please supply some more details about the failed memory card you mention in your 29 November article?

Which brand, what capacity, which format?

Presumably if you have one of the latest SLRs that allow writing to 2 cards simultaneously, this provides some extra protection against events like this.

Good to hear that you managed to recover the card contents anyway.
