I'm trying for a melancholic reverie feel with "Windows." Any thoughts about how to enhance that feeling? Thanks, Bill

I like the picture.  I do not think that the model's body language supports melancholia but is more contemplative or thoughtful.  The title "Windows" seems a misnomer because only the central window is significant to the picture.

Mute the jacket so it is not as bright maybe something closer to the color of the hat.

Maybe if you did a color picture in black in white meaning mute all of the colors down to almost grey/black.

I agree with thoutgful or contemplative--don't really get a moody feel out of this.

I am finding the foreground wall so visually interesting comparted to the centre, that I find my eyes keep skipping over the centre--perhaps toning the wall down would focus on your subject?

I like the direction.
The window not being sq. with the frame was the first thing I noticed.
The designs on the wall at the top of the image, distracted me.
I do like the bush at the bottom,-- maybe reframing a little lower, taking the window away from the centre of the composition.
A slightly foggy morning would certainly ad to the mood you are trying for.
I would like to see shallower depth of field with a softer bg.

Keep up the good work, just never plan on arriving!!

The composition is good.  The sepia tone evokes "old," but the sharp focus and high contrast belies that and interferes with your attempt at creating mood.

It is not necessary to "optimize" the tonal range by spreading it from black to stark white.  In this case I think a decreased contrast would have worked better.  Several responses here had to do with lowering the brightness of the blouse, the wall, etc, and one suggested a foggy atmosphere.  I think we are all reacting to the high contrast.
