iīm on a macbookpro 2,2 with 4GBram

1. Try to reduce the cache size to 1/10 - 1/8 (the less the better)  of your HD free space. NX works best when the cache is outsourced to an external drive but that dosnīt work with a macbook.
2. Close any other application like PS, Lightroom, etc.
3. On Leopard i disabled the dashboard/widgets. That worked wonder on my powerbook. You can deactivate/activate them with a simple script called "DashOff_101.app" - google for this please, i canīt remeber the download link.

Nikon is working on a faster version which hopefully will be released soon.
Hope it helps a bit.

hi joern,
thanks for the tips.
iīve reduced the cache size.
downloaded the dash off thing and it seems to be working.
and , yes you can assign the cache to an external harddrive. at least it give me any trouble, when i did it . but than iīm on an intel mac, which may be different from your one.
so iīll have to check a bit more, but all that seems to have given me some more speed.
although i still think the general behaviour of NX is quite cumbersome.
for instance , when youīre doing whitebalance it always switched to closed side menues and stuff like that.
letīs hope for the best, thanks again.
