Some fill lighting from low camera right would greatly improve this shot, as would getting closer. The setting is rather boring and ads nothing to the shot; a "head and shoulders" portrait-style crop would make a much stronger image.

This was taken just after sunrise with a canon 20D 300mm IS USM, no flash, mirror lockup with a 1.4 extender.
Any Suggestions, I feel like its missing something
Ignore my self promoting website, I linked to the pic on my site so that I could post it.

When I look at the image, I see three things: the promo, the bird, and the stuff on the right.
You said you got rid of the promo. Get rid of the stuff on the right (sticks(?) and sunlit boards). (Crop or clone it away. If you crop it out, the image will be a bit heavy to the left.)
As Jonathan suggested, the lighting ratio is a bit high. Lighten the shadows on the right side of the bird.
Then revisit the crop.
If it is intended to be a promo piece, leave the promo on (the negative space of the sky is good), lighten the shadow, crop out the stuff on the right, and adjust the final crop.
