performance gains of Photoshop CS V CS 2

I have held out till now to buy CS3 because I don't need any of the new tools etc in CS3 but I feel CS is running a little slow on my intel mac. Is CS3 going to be much faster then CS on intel? Also I had a couple of crashes with CS. Anyone have experience in such matters?

CS 3 is Intel-native, ie it doesn't run under the Rosetta PPC emulator. Barefeats website has a short benchmark test comparing CS 2 to a beta of CS 3 ([a href=\"http://www.barefeats.com/quad16.html]here[/url]).
