Hi All,
The specs sheet says the flash senses power and flash duration and communicates with the camera to achieve consistent white balance.
Does that mean I need to set camera to AWB while shooting
OR
Can I say shoot first using Flash WB or whatever WB setting I like (for consistency) and then look at the camera corrected white balance when I set to Auto WB in DPP? I think this will be possible if the flash power / duration compensation readings are somehow sent to the camera and appended to the RAW file. I shoot a 400D.
Thanks for your help / info. I have a shoot tonight.

In-camera AWB is iffy and approximate at best, and especially in mixed-light situations is easily fooled. I use UniWB (do a forum search for more info) in-camera to maximize the accuracy of the histograms so I can adjust exposure more accurately, and then set WB manually in the RAW converter, using the RAW converter's Auto WB setting as a starting point. UniWB makes the previews on the camera LCD look funny, but makes it easier to get exposure right, especially in oddball lighting where blowing a color channel can be really easy.
