Chris, I absolutely enjoyed your gallery of penguin images.  I particularly enjoyed your B&W treatments.  The B&W "pano" with the centered, calling penguin on the rock is very, very nice.  I'm envious of your trip and hope to get down there in the not too distant future.  Thanks for posting!

Hey, but you've got lots of bald eagles, which are amazing birds too.  I've been hiking around Juneau on vacation several times, and love watching the eagles riding the thermals.  (All we have around here is red-tailed hawks; OK, but nothing like eagles.     )

Fantastic penguin photos.  Makes me want to go to Antarctica...

great penguin pics! I´ve been to Antarctica in 1997 but
want to return someday.

I use the same camera you got - in 97 I used the Hassel-
blad but I sold it a long time ago.

Can I ask you what lenses you did use?

It's hard not to smile when you see a penguin...these little guys were so friendly they'd walk right up to you.

The only time I've seen penguins in the wild was in the very south of New Zealand.  Not very close, but close enough to enjoy, have many smiles and laughs.  Looking back, I wonder why I found it so fun to watch these little birds try to get out of the ocean and waddle up the beach to home.  They aren't the best walkers I have seen, and the transition from swimming to walking was even worse.  But fun to watch.

me again.

I just found the red dots in the background of your
penguin image - I think they are fellow travellers.

Allow me to make a suggestion: Try to "kill" them
in Photoshop - maybe just by changing the colour
of red to grey or something. If you print them un-
changed, the red almost immediately kills your image...
