I suppose you think you are funny..I miss the humor here.. time and place for everything.

 Paul,

Wishing luck to someone, is very different then what is going here.

he only lost a job, no he's life.

To me is funny how everyone come to give an opnion in how good he was, the sinar lost the best in so on.

other then say good luck, find another job.

Life is like that, for me he only lost a job, maybe for you is is dead.  Sad for you

Thierry,

I would like to add I am shocked to hear this news too. First the big changes with Sun Studios over here and now you... something is going on.

Thank you for all your help over the years, on this forum and privately via PM and email. All the best for the future.

I think what we're seeing here is respect and appreciation for someone who put energy into trying to deliver factual information where it is rare; Who offered help to those who thought they had none; Who clearly was dedicated to his profession.

While he didn't save the world, I think he is being recognized for his service and dedication. For those who have appreciated that, he will be missed. And I think that is entirely appropriate.

Do you think anyone is appreciative of your take on this thread?.. thank you for your analysis, but I think all here
would be pleased if you would just shut the __up.. I am not even going to try to explain reality like steve has, you
obviously have the sensitivity of panf with a 29a filter..I do hope you apply more sensitivity to photography than you show here.
But please have the last word and expose yourself more.. .sad for me?,no, sad for all of us who read it.

I work as a Journalist for a news paper for 9 years, and after I have kids, I left  five years ago,, they still today want me back  ( I guess I was good).

If they need him, and he was good maybe they take him back, is not life continuo on.

just wish him luck with happiness .

Dear Thierry,
Thanks for all your help while you were in your last job. I look forward to your continued sharing of expertise in whatever field you are moving into.

I wish you well, and hope that this change will become something positive, even if it doesn't really feel like that right now. Changes in job status nearly always have a degree of uncertainty, if not trepidation about them, and even if they are not forced on us. I'm sure many here empathise with your situation.
God Bless

Another vote for the good job Thiery did in representing Sina, giving useful advice and the patience when dealing with some forum posters.

If  I owned a Sinar I would have found Theirry a godsend.

We all have questions, sometimes frustrations with the products we've bought and obviously manufacturer's reps and dealers have an agenda to put their product in the best light and to move product.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and the flip side is Steve, Yair, David, Theirry, and a lot of the dealers have given us all a  lot of information that would have been hard to come by left on our own.

I'm sorry Theirry is not with Sinar anymore, especailly Sinar as they seem to be a somewhat cryptic company to get information from and Theirry did a lot to "clarify".

I know he will do well, because obviously theirry likes to work and people that like working always land on their feet, usually 4 steps ahead.

Thierry's departure is a big setback for Sinar, especially their presence on the web.

Reading the posts and discussions from Thierry and others here on LL for 6 months to a
year made me switch to the Sinar solution for my type of shooting ( typically switching  = financial whipping).

This kind of pure information from a manufacturers rep is hard to come by without strings attached.

Its only been a few months that there has been a manufacturer's rep from all the backs on this forum: Steve , David, Yair , and Thierry

Somehow, the manufacturers underestimate the power of the web.
This is a great place to read about successes/problems with various solutions (it can also be very boring at times).

The discussions  between members and these web reps transpire into a kind of "forum knowledge"
that serves the function of pre-sales marketing for a manufacturer.

I would have never even bothered to look into the Sinar solution without the discussions on this forum and Thierry's help.

Having used this product for 2 years, I have to say that both the  Sinar product and the service (sales and technical reps) is simply outstanding here in the US.

Its unfortunate to lose someone like Thierry who is passionate about his work and has done a lot to project and represent Sinar product line on the internet.

Having this kind of an international web rep/web face would seem to be a necessity and cost effective solution  for both  branding and pre sales marketing for a manufacturer, particularly in this economy

best to you  Thierry

Thierry,

I will add my voice to the many who have thanked you for your efforts on behalf of Sinar.  I will always appreciate the efforts you made when I was having some difficulty with my Sinar kit.  I wish you and your family the very best of luck and hope you will find an equally satisfying career elsewhere.  Sinar has lost a strong supporter and advocate of their brand.

Thierry,

many thanks for your contributions here. You have certainly done a good job as a rep and as someone who is very interested in photograph.
I hope you´ll find a new job soon!
