Hi, I recently lost my 85mm 0.9 SE Hitech filter while shooting in a river. I took this as a sign that it is time to upgrade my filter system, hehe
My main problem with the P filter system is I get vignetting or I see the P filter holder at 17mm on a FF(5DMKII) camera. So right now, I am currently looking at the Lee 0.9 SE 4x6 filter. My question would be what kind of filter holder AND 77mm adapter ring would I need? With filter holders available from Cokin, Hitech, Lee, etc, I'm not sure which one is best.
I am currently on this site at 2filter.com;
http://www.2filter.com/Leefilters/LeeFilters4x4.htmlAre these the only 2 other accessories I will need? Will the filter holder be compatible to future filters I want to buy like the Singh-Ray Reverse ND Grad?
Lee 4x4 Filter Holder "FK" Lee FK filter holder $74.44
Lee 77mm Wide Angle adapter ring $57.74
Thanks for any help
Adrian
Simple answer is yes to all.
It will be compatible with almost any square type filter. Lee uses adjustable filter rails that you can add to, subtract from, make thicker or make thinner. As well as the W/A ring and holder I would think about their hood (for your longer lenses) and either the upgrade kit later or the pro kit now instead of the FK.
Also bring along some black card or non reflective black masking tape on location to seal and flag off stray light.
