Hi There: In case anyone's interested, AMD recently announced their new six-core processors. More information here:
http://sites.amd.com/PublishingImages/Publ...odule/shell.swf
Although people who do really large stitched images (like Bernard) may be more interested in this:

Uhm... is there any MPI-enabled pano software? I'd try and install it on our cluster. It's less than 900 cores, but it should give a little performance boost over my athlonx2 workstation...

Thanks for the link Mike, since Autopano pro runs on Linux, I guess that I'll go for the Cray. I have always liked the name anyway.
Cheers,
Bernard

wow ... 900 cores.
Just an anecdotal story that came to mind ...
When he (Semour Cray) was told that Apple Computer had just bought a Cray to help design the next Apple Macintosh, Cray commented that he had just bought a Macintosh to design the next Cray.

Yup... but it won't run Photoshop... it won't probably even run any operating system needed to run PS...
