I have noticed on the sigma 9 & 10 that the noise seems to be horizonztal bands on the lower 1/3 of the sensor as well as splotches of noise that is spillover(possibly?). Has any one found a way of isolating the noise & subtracting it from a channel? The horizontal bands seem to be a function of the chip not so much, the light falling on it. So could it be a firmware issue or a raw conversion  solution to part of the noise prob. Is there another software raw conversion that could work. I remember some time back on a forum, some one opened a x3f file with something other than spp 2.0 I tried renaming a x3f to different raw formats and trying ps cs but no luck. I'm not trying to start a debate on the merits or lack of, simply trying to find another path other than bluring a layer to mask the prob. thanks for any thoughts
