Move presets between catalogs

hi everybody,

i use LR2 with a variety of import/export/metadata presets. i also have to switch computers often.
does anyone how i can take all my presets with me from one computer to another?

any help or link appreciated.

Are you using Mac or Windows?

On my Mac, all these presets are stored in users/tokengirl/library/adobe/lightroom.  I'm not sure where they would be on a Windows machine, but I'm sure you'll find them if you hunt around.

I have copied some of my Develop presets and shared them with friends via e-mail or cd-rom, so I guess you could do the same with other presets???  Never tried to share anything but develop presets before.

The easiest way is to copy the Lightroom folder containing the presets.

Go to Preferences > Presets.

In the middle of the panel is a button that says "Show Lightroom Presets Folder".

You can copy/replace items and subfolders from within this folder to your other LR installations. Be careful about this; you might have stuff in the other presets folders you'd want to keep.

At some point you may want to consolidate everything into one "master' presets folder, and as you update that set of files you'll need to also update the files on the other machines.

And remember to restart Lightroom after updating anything in the presets folder.
