For those in Australia,
SALT (the documentary) is screening on ABC 1 this Tuesday (23/3) night at 10pm.
It also on Qantas Inflight, Domestic and International.
For those in the USA, PBS has picked it up and it will be screening shortly on their 'POV' channel.

Murray I am excited to see it on PBS. So far they don't have it listed on PBS. Do post the info when PBS is planning to show it, when they finalize the schedule. I am sure there are many fellow L-L viewers in States would want to watch it. Terrific work. Cheers.

It's excellent! I watched it at the Sydney Film Festival last year.
Well done Murray!

Congratulations Murray, just finished watching it. Absolutely amazing! Looked like a real pilgrimage. Loved the images, the editing, the music and found myself quite moved. I was riveted to the screen. I urge everyone to see this if they can.

Loved the time-lapse of the Milky Way in the trailer. What did you shoot it with?

In the US it is scheduled to be aired on August 17, 2010. Here is the link and trailer. I have to put a reminder in my iCal. Me too! I put a reminder in when I first saw the date. Waiting, waiting. Then I see: Angelina Jolie stars in 'Salt,' a contemporary espionage thriller about a CIA agent who is accused of being a Russian spy and becomes a federal fugitive What, exactly, was this film about again? Anything you want to tell your S.O. before she sees the movie? Can't you send them a "Cease and desist"" or something over that name? Geez ... Anyway, really looking forward to finally seeing this tomorrow! Congrats! Best, Michael

Hi Murray. Thanks again, but you misunderstood me. I've been doing astrophotography since 1988, so I wasn't looking for a general primer! I was wondering what settings you specifically had used. If you can't recall, then don't worry about it.

OK,
It's all from memory, but I think the ISO was 1600, aperture f/2.8 and exposure around 15sec?? Per frame. It was about a 90deg pan on the moco over 10 hours. Lens was 14mm on a Canon 40d.
That sequence also includes very strong zodical light at the end of the sequence. Apart from the settings, what's crucial is the Southern hemisphere location in one of the darkest spots on the planet - I am not an expert here though, just what I've been told. Cheers Murray
