D60. not noise, but what is it

[font color=\'#000000\']From day one i felt that my D30 gave me a nicer image than the D60. I felt that for some reason it seemed to have more noise. I got to looking close the other day at this problem and it is not noise i am seeing but a clumping of colour (note the high-tech terms) Like in smooth colours, say, the sky, I see an unsmooth texture, like what you would see if you pushed the saturation too high. I am just wondering if there has been a problem from day one that I just didn't recognize. The camera is about a year old now and I have done nothing to it except change lenses. What do you think, am I causing this with a bad edit practice or what. I just read another reveiw here of the D60 with top shelf honors, but I don't see it.
