I'm saying that the Hasselblad cord is crap. I'm also saying the Hasselblad cord is over-priced crap.

Yes, indeed.

I also contributed to a thread on hasselbladdigitalforum.com where the view was that all these type of cords are intrinsically unreliable.

Now, let me think, should I buy expensive unreliable cords or should I buy cheap unreliable cords...
