An example HD video in Infra Red

I have just uploaded a new 720HD video (IR landscapes) using a Canon 500D (Hutech-modded with clear glass over the sensor for full spectrum, primarily for astrophotography, 400nm to 1000nm) and an IR-pass filter. Of course, with an appropriate filter the camera is still fully competent as a normal, visible-light camera, stills or video. Since it is impossible to color-balance invisible-to-humans IR, the video may also be of interest to those wishing to check out the greyscale monochrome renditions and in-camera sepia-toning (or blue- for watery scenes, green- for foliage scenes, or whatever). I used an Astronomik ProPlanet "clip" filter behind the lens. This enables total freedom in swopping to any EF-mount lens. The video included a 14mm Tamron and a Canon 28-135mm. One can also use a Wratten 89B gel behind the lens, or a less versatile Hoya R72 infront of the lens. The YouTube video is towards the bottom of my homepage. You can also view full screen at 720p by clicking the appropriate buttons. The original footage comes out quite decently on a large TV (I checked it out on a 55" and a 70"). I used the camera's slow, LiveView autofocus, and it is totally reliable in IR.

Thanks for posting your video. This is interesting to note that some scenes don't look too different from "normal" and some are indeed very IR receptive (and can look weird).
