4x5" Fireworks

I had a loaned Sinar F2 recently for 2 weeks.
At the same time we had a big fireworks here in Hamburg during the harbors birthday party.
With a bit of preparation I could find a good place and I placed the camera, using bulb mode to catch the show.
What I liked so much is the amount of detail you can catch with the 4x5" camera.
I'm planning to do some big prints from one or two of the images.
The second image is a crop from the center of the first.
Lens was a Super Angulon 90 mm. Film was Portra 160 NC. F-Stop something between f8 and f11.

What was really fun, was, that during shooting I did a mix of shorter and longer exposures, which can be seen well in the third image.
First I was afraid it would all be overloaded with light, but after development the result was a surprise to me.

Just found this: there's magic in larger formats; there always was - it's just that in the modern world care and time are so damned expensive.

I read all this modern jazz about 100% viewing etc. and remember with a wan smile that in my days of printing material from both plate and film, quality or, rather, doubts about whether it would be there, never crossed our minds. It was always there as a given. Babies and bathwater time again.

I think the second one has an attractive abstract feel to it. The others are, well, pretty photographs of fireworks.

I only have cheap overview scans of 20 Megapixels in the moment,
but I think I'll get some with higher resolution, so I can get better crops.
There are many images in these fireworks.
Same with the other 28 4x5" images I took the last weeks.
