No, nothing talks to anything. It's just a means of framing the shot if your not using a back with Live View.

Michael

Thanks - now I think I've understood :

It uses the camery of the iPhone to give you a view of the focal length.

A modern way to watch through an empty frame of a slide.

Kudos to Jeff for a very nice presentation of soft proofing.  Everything was clear and this was a particularly good image to demonstrate why SP is necessary.  Well done.

The 'Route 66' shirt Jeff wears in this segment is spectacular.  Where are these shirts made/sold?

Thanks...the Route 66 is, I think, from Vegas (a Big & Tall store in one of the shopping areas). Most of the Hawaiian shirts are by Tommie Bahama.

I tend to collect them as wardrobe (and I deduct them as such). I rarely if ever wear them around the studio. Just black Tee shirts :~)

Don't forget to keep a running count of how many shirts I wear...

Soon to be available in all sizes (from 5X to 11X) at the LuLa Store?

So isn't it time for Michael to have a makeover? Or is he just going to let Jeff go on upstaging him?
I bet he doesn't even have a motorcycle yet.

Well...Chris and I have tried ya know? Problem is, Mike is kinda set in his ways and has an incredibly drab wardrobe but hey, that's Mike's nature. Course he gives me crap about jazzing up my images so I guess his tastes really do fall under the conservative Canadian nature he exhibits. It's kinda like the story about the scorpion asking a frog for a ride across the river...the scorpion ends up stinging the frog and when the frog said why did you sting me, now we'll both die, the scorpion said, well, it's my "nature".

And no, I seriously doubt Michael's wife would stand for him riding a bike...also not sure I would want to see him riding a bike... I've spent plenty of time with Mike driving a car and the number of times he's almost driven off the road while looking at EVERYTHING but the road in search of a shot is enough for me to take his keys away...know what I mean?

At some point in some future video, I promise to make him wear a interesting Hawaiian shirt while I wear my normal "basic black". Even if I have to wrestle him to the ground to put it on him...which would be easy since he's really a small guy (well compared to me).

:~)

I think this response is the one most of us need.  Can someone post this explanation at the beginning of the forum so we don't need to read well into the journal to find out solution or post it as the discount link.
Thanks

Chris,

I've looked and looked but I can't find the two most essential topics on the Table of Contents:

1.   Color Management of Hawaiian Shirts -- by Jeff schewe, and

2.   Color Management of Shirts: A Dissenting View -- by Michael Reichmann.

 Shocked

I have now watched all 23 videos. Great stuff, have to say. There is not however much talk about sharpening. Am I missing something or what?

You're missing the entire section on image optimizing...which has yet been released.
