My 2c's :
- From what I've seen, playing jpg files on a TV can be quite sloooooow, ie 10s/image, if the TV has to resample large files. The resampling done by the TV may not be optimal either, so 1st thing is to constrain images within the TV native definition (ie 1920*1080 if full HD).
- For color space, as these beasts generally don't know anything of color management, the best would be to profile the TV... this http://www.homecinema-fr.com/colorimetre/index_en.php
may help but I never ventured into anything such.
Otherwise, sRGB should be not too far from the ballpark.
