1 million fps

Phantom V1610 can shoot videos at 1 million fps. Some staggering numbers, I'm just wondering how brightly you would have to light a subject at these speeds.

its for analyzing stuff in a lab by eye, not meant to be edited into a 1080 system.

jim matlotz shoots at like normal HS, like 5-30k fps and said they had to use 2-20k tungstens and a 5k top kicker to light a subject at like 10ft.

assuming a regular video camera shoots 30 fps at f32ish under full sunlight, with a shutterspeed of 1/60 (180 angle), you would need approx 16 stops more light or open up 16 stops... i may have lost count halfway. usually their idea of exposure is not perfecting it, its is it ok, grossly to dark or light to be corrected, otherwise ok.

It would be of tremendous help in the medical and scientific world. What if they can fit it with an electron microscope? Interesting...

why are you suggesting cutting down the light when you need all you can get?

having been on set with a phantom at 100-250fps i can tell you that 5 and 10k lights with a periscope lens to get the camera away from the set was used. this was just for a small close-up drinks shot.
