Windows XP SP2 compression & Photoshop CS2

Has anyone had problems with file compression in Windows XP when using Photoshop CS2? After installing CS2 I had problems with communication between ACR and Bridge. Sometimes Bridge would not create thumbnails, sometimes ACR info would not display in Bridge. I removed file compression from all the directories that CS2 uses and ran repair from the CD and now everything works OK.
I also had some problems printing from Bibble until I uncompressed the images I was trying to print.
Any thoughts?
