Would making a photogram over a regular image projected from an enlarger work?

It seemed to work in this image I found on Flickr:

Basically I want to project an image from a negative in an enlarger like I was making a normal print, but place objects on top of the paper as if I was making a photogram.  Any suggestions or reasons why this wouldn't be very successful?  I've tried to find more examples online but haven't been able to find anything.

I'd say: Go ahead and give it a try. It will probably take some experiments to get an interesting result, but I think the idea certainly has possibilities.

I have given an assignment like this to my classes for years and I have seen some amazingly creative work.  Put logic on hold and just try stuff.  For instance; I had a student one time who filled a ZipLock bag with water and a goldfish inside, then projected a negative over it.  Pretty cool.  Rolls of processed 35mm film allowed to uncurl on top of the paper with a photograph projected on if.  The possibilities are endless.
