Have you tried looking at OWC? I got 16Gb for my MP 3,1 a few years back and the prices were pretty good. Would love another 16Gb to feed it's hungry belly.

Hi, I looked at OWC store first thing.. The price for 16Gb kit for the 3,1 version Mac Pro is a bit high (about $600), so I am wondering if somebody selling used memory.. I may have what you want, but am not sure if my memory will work for you. I am considering upgrading my Mac Pro to 64MB, in which case, I need to sell my 16 GB boards (4 x 4GB). The 3,1 from memory is 800 MHz. Not sure if this makes a difference. If not I might be keen on half of your RAM.

I believe the faster memory will not work in your machine, but you could check with OWC
to confirm. If it will, then great.
