Camera for my dad?

My 88 year old father asked my advice for a new camera. I am not all that familiar with the current crop of point-and-shoots and would like some advice. A good zoom range, decent image quality, flash, <= $300, and not too complex (he's not as alert as he used to be). I was thinking the Nikon Coolpix S9100 but am sure there are other choices that might be better. Thanks in advance.
