Hi, I've got a question on Incident Metering.

I have a Minolta incident meter that i know is acurate, I've been using it to meter distant landscape pictures. I believed that as long as the meter is in the same light as the subject you are ok... Huh

Is this the case or do you have to be next to the subject you want to meter from?

This is fine as long as the light source is at the same distance from the subject as from the point you meter. This applies to sun lit landscapes, since the sun is so far away that there is no practical difference.

For artificial lighting this might not be the case. You would have to meter next to the subject.
