FCP X & Resolve

We have just posted DaVinci Resolve 8.2 beta 4 for Mac, Windows and Linux and also the Lite versions for Mac and Windows. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/
Beta 4 includes support for Final Cut Pro X XML1.1 including import of color, sizing, opacity and composite mode settings from FCP X. It also corrects some issues we had with beta 3 and includes general stability improvements.

I really like the FCP X workflow, and its export to Resolve Lite seems to work well for me.

It's easy to pick up and non-intimidating (my actor-turned director girlfriend took to it very quickly, having been scared off by FCP6 and Premiere Pro).

Now it has very good multicam, Magic Bullet Looks and export to Resolve, there's very little missing from it for me. It works in a high bit depth floating point colour space, shared with Motion and Compressor. Editing is very fluid, and the critical keyboard shortcuts are there when you start to get up to speed on it. And it is pretty damn fast. Not quite up to Premiere Pro in all cases, but FCP X's background render is great.

We've swapped over to it 100% now, with simple projects done and graded all in FCP X and more demanding stuff exported via Resolve Lite.

Main missing feature- native handling of RED files. But the workflow with RED Cine to create proxies, then Resolve to do the final grade and export seemed to work OK for my test shoot.
