I noticed that the fog in the morning formed a river, waiting for the sun to be part of a more appropriate location for the image have lucky because the rays were beginning to peep through the trees

What a glorious photograph. Not only do you have fog filtering into the trees at the bottom of the frame (an effect that is very appealing), but you also have a long line of crepuscular rays formed by light streaming between the trees. Either one of these would have been great to have in a photograph, and having two such elements makes it exceptional.

I found my eyes went right to the center then down with rays to the clouds where I was amazed to notice the tops of the trees there and by the 'green' of the foreground trees. The dark of the background layers is very effective. I think it adds a nice perspective to the size of the mountains or hills without a lot of detail, so we are not drawn away from your theme or subject in the center. Before I clicked on the thumbnail, I thought I would be looking at a black and white. I was very pleased to see the subtle colors.
Could you share a bit how you got this wonderful shot. Time of day, where were you standing, camera settings, editing, etc.? Did other exposure settings render quite different results? I would not have know there was a river without your title.
Just look at those "crepuscular rays", definitely a "wow" photo of this unique view of our natural landscape!

excuse my English
It was morning at 07:26:33 am, shutter speed 1/500, aperture f / 9, ISO 100 film speed, focal length 75mm lens EF 70-200mm f/4L USM.
I and a friend were walking on foot roadside, I noticed the low-lying fog, but the sun was not in a good position, I waited waiting for the sun rise up over the mountains and to my surprise came the ray of sunshine that filtered between the trees, waiting a few more minutes went rays to illuminate the fog.
I worked at editing the raw file in photoshop just by increasing the contrast and colors of blacks, then passing to the software I have corrected the shadows and lights, so I increased the contrast still it shall increase gradually to avoid losing detail, with the brush burns I darkened the river fog and lighten the brush I passed all the rays of the sun for intravederli; are about three hours

All the best photographs need two elements - luck and skill.
The luck to be in the right place at the right time (and to have your camera with you).
The skill to recognise the potential of the scene and to then get the composition, exposure and perspective right.

Impressive scene well captured... the colours are a little subdued converting to monochrome might be worth a look?
