I went to AC almost three years ago now, my one and only visit. I didn't get as many keepers as I wanted, and was disappointed (and was on the move on a tight schedule so couldn't try again). Anyways, recently I looked through them again, and thought this one deserved another try. Not sure why I passed it over the first time. Perhaps the two small blown highlights? They don't really bother me anymore. Hope you enjoy, C&C appreciated  |

Very nice! The little blown highlights don't bother me at all.
I think one reason I can enjoy it now is that it's been quite a while since anyone posted Antelope Canyon here.

No problem with the blown highlights.
I like the square crop for this image, it is perfect with the curved walls.

Dam!! Now I'm wanting to back out and shoot in there again. 4 day drive each way plus a few days out there to play. Maybe hit the Vermillion Cliffs as well. Maybe this fall. Maybe..Maybe..Maybe..Maybe..  |

I think semi-blown highlights in a slot canyon are just fine; it's not like they're not contributing to the overall picture. They add certain points of contrast, IMHO, as long as they're not too dominant. Been to both upper and lower, and have always tried like hell to shoot things that aren't cliched or done to death. Great composition! Could you tell me how can I post the images with the message together on this site without showing the images as an attachment? I tried to use the insert feature while i create a post but it doesn't work. Thanks a lot!

Load your images into Photobucket and then copy the IMG code and insert it into the icon that has the earth in it. That is the hyperlink button.
It should insert your photos.

Looks OK to me Matt! I was there in 2005 one time only, but did manage a few good ones   Kevin, Your photograph reminds me of this one I did a couple of years ago (except mine is in b/w) Antelope is kind of a small place and I like the idea that the same photo opportunities seem to appeal to different people Regards, Holger www.broschek-photo.com |
