Alain Briot says in his book 'Marketing Fine Art Photography' that horse pictures sell really well, I hope he's right..

The second image, for me, is much better; it's like a portrait and you have caught the animal spirit into its eyes.

Definitely second one. The tree trunk behind the horse's legs in the first one is off-putting in what would have otherwise been a lovely image.
