If you purchase Photoshop CS5 now Adobe will give a free upgrade to CS6 when it's available. The upgrade currently costs $199. Staples office supply curently has a 20% off coupon on all software in the store which results in a $160 upgrade to CS6. This might be the best deal for awhile.

Hi All
Some of us upgraded to 5.5 on the 31st December 2011 because Adobe said you couldn't upgrade from 3 to 6 after that date now they want another £190 to upgrade to 6 from 5.5 . My patience is wearing thin.
Does any one have any info on this subject.

The Staples offer sounds better, but I was pleasantly surprised to have NAPP customer service issue me another one-time 15% discount code. I had used mine for Lightroom 4 so the previous code was refused for CS6.

I'm with Alto on this one. I responded to Adobe's 'new' policy of only upgrading from one level back so I bought the PS5.5 upgrade on November 17. Now I have to spend $200 to upgrade to 6? THAT REALLY SUCKS. You got me Adobe. Happy? I'm not.
How about a discount for those who were bullied into upgrading to 5.5?

At this moment, I am chatting with Adobe customer service. I purchased a CS5 upgrade in November because I was afraid to wait due to the fear caused by Adobe's announcement of the change in policy. Adobe caused me to be afraid to wait, and now, the ones that waited are being rewarded with a complimentary upgrade. The customer service chat person "Junaid" has told me that the contact information of the proper person for me to express my opinion to is not available. Adobe does not have email support. I must pay Adobe for the privilege of speaking with them on the telephone. I am very disappointed. I feel like I have been taken advantage of.

Hi All
I have just spoken to Adobe support after hearing my case they immediately offered me a FREE version of Lightroom (have always been an Aperture user all archive is on it so way to much hassle to change)
I asked if they were so free with light room why not just upgrade to CS6 the guy said can't do that so has escalated the case will keep you all posted.
LR in UK £103
CS6 upgrade £190
All inc tax

On the phone Bryan don't know if it was Uk but one guy was Dutch and the other of undetermined Asian origin.

I work with Photoshop on daily basis. I see it as a nice Idea to have a possibility to work with other software too but I don't wish to be pushed to a subscription model. I don't need After Effects or InDesign every day. It is still pretty expensive to keep your subscription running and work with Photoshop only.
