afaict the "Equipment & Techniques > Landscape & Nature Photography" forum is now where people submit their photos to be admired.

I think it might help if the forum location, forum title and description reflected actual use.

How might we find out if those who use that particular forum would prefer a different title or description, and how might the change be made?

iirc Several people have commented that "Landscape & Nature Photography" isn't the place for critiques because "User Critiques" is the place for critiques. They seem to wish for a forum where user photographs may be submitted but not critiqued, and consider "Landscape & Nature Photography" to be that forum.

So what can be done?

The Art of Photography > User Photography -  A "safe house" where user submitted photographs may be admired.

Or make it clear to everyone that photos submitted to that forum are open to critique not just admiration.
