Hi,
Just a few quick requests for your upcoming D800 review and related articles. Based on your forum comments, I can see you're already looking at all these things to some extent, but I'm just elaborating on the wish list, as it were.
First, I'd love to see your comments on how various lenses perform. Looking over my shooting habits, I've decided I'd like to have two lenses that together cover a range of roughly 28-105mm, presumably one zoom and one prime. I'd also like the prime to be a macro. Looking at the lenses on Nikon's list, the 24-70mm and 105mm macro pairing looks like an obvious option, but reviews for these seem a bit mixed. I'd very much appreciate your thoughts on these, as well as any non-Nikon alternatives I should be considering.
Next, I'd love to see detailed comparisons with medium format, particularly on scenes with challenging DR. Based on your forum comments, I'm looking forward to your thoughts on this. It might also be a good opportunity to clear up/summarize opposing comments you've made at various times (eg, the "you've got to kidding" comparison versus remarks on vastly superior DR for medium format).
Finally, I'd be very interested to see your further thoughts on the ongoing forum debate between the D800 and D800e, and in particular how difficult/worthwhile more advanced sharpening techniques would be.

Thanks!

Brian

PS. I have a random and somewhat pointless question -- if (as is my impression) you were pretty sure you'd prefer the D800e, why buy both? Certainly we are benefiting from the direct comparisons!

Hi again,
Just wanted to say thanks for the detailed review, and in particular the lens suggestions, which will clearly be very valuable if (as seems likely) I end up going the D800 route. I particularly appreciate the sigma macro lens recommendation. I have become rather attached to using my 100mm macro lens on APS-C bodies, and had been bemoaning the fact that no comparable focus length seemed to be out there for full frame. But the recommendation on the 24-120mm lens was also an eye-opener for me.
Still would be glad to hear any further thoughts you have on D800 vs D800e vs medium format (especially low-end medium format with comparable resolution).
